Our experience:

We started our ride from Niger Valley with African Elephants enclosure onwards to Sahel and Savannah habitats catching a glimpse of Watusi cattle, gazelles, Wilder beast, and up-close Antelope, Crocodiles, Red Lechwe, Oryx, Cape buffalo to name a few. The safari truck fits 27 people. Being early allows you to get the from seats. Avoid seating kids near the open sides as we encountered many untrimmed thorny shrubs coming into the seated area.

Kids enjoyed watching each animal up close and as the safari truck stopped, they got to observe their behaviours, catch a antler fight, and so much more. We had an automatic recording that narrated fun facts as we passed each animal. We stopped for a 30 mins break which allowed us to quickly grab lunch, feed some fishes, race to the washroom and back to the Safari truck. There are some shaded spots and a playground for kids to play or snack and rest on a bench under a shady tree.

We continued our Safari exploring Kalahari, Ngorongoro and Moremi habitats. We got to see Spring bok, Impala, Rhinos, Lions, and our favourite Giraffes. Each animals’ habitat was well spaced out with huge open spaces. We even got to see an Ostrich lay its egg.

After the Safari truck tour, we decided to explore East African island with tortoises, Meerkats and Birds of Africa exhibits. The meerkats weren’t there in their outdoor habitat instead they were indoor habitat. This allowed us to settle down and just observe them being their mischief self. There were interactive exhibits for kids to play and learn, staff handed out some paper to color to create mask for kids.

We spent a lot of time in the Birds of Africa exhibit that allows you to enter a habitat with birds flying and moving freely. Watching them move around felt so close to nature. You are not allowed to feed any animals or birds. We got to catch a couple of rats running around too. Watch the Pelicans make a nest above us.

We finally settled in to watch a bird show at 4pm that lasted for 30mins. After which we headed towards the exit where you can buy some souvenirs made in Africa. Truly a unique experience and a must do!
