Dino take over Oli Oli

Do you have a child that is absolutely crazy about dinosaurs?

Who enjoys role playing with dinosaurs?

Loves to break through fossils to discover dinosaur bones.

If you’ve said ‘YES’ then you have to make time and take your dino obsessed to Oli Oli.

LiL Knight loves dinosaurs so much that it’s become an obsession. Yes, we have been to dinosaur park at Zabeel a zillion times and yet never enough. He surprises me with the detail information of so many dinosaurs whose name I can’t pronounce.

When we heard about the Dino take over at Oli Oli we just had to go. My 5 yr olds eye lit up with absolute thrill.

When we entered we got our map to follow with a little quiz at the end.

We started with the wall about guessing the dinosaurs height. We recorded our guesses and went straight to the air gallery.

The map showed us the dinosaur footprints my Toshi’s Net.

Toshi’s Net

Oh boy, this net is a show stopper attraction for kids of all ages. We spent a good half an hour here.

Dino digging site

Then we headed towards Dino discovery which had a dark tunnel filled with fluorescent drawings with sound activated lights. This led us to a whole new world where you get to be a paleontologist. But before you go all digging you’ve got to wear your gear and grab your tools. You can easily spend an hour here. We found 3 bones and there were a total of 62 bones to be discovered.

If your worried about things getting messy there is a space for kids to wash their hands and clean up.

It’s not over yet… you have a few fossils placed on the table for kids to explore before they leave.

Futuristic park

Next stop would be to the futuristic park a feast to kids eyes. More info here.

You can now head to the dinosaur stories and shadow room where a child’s play comes alive.

Dino stories and shadows

Lil knight absolutely loved this as he can now see a bigger version of the dinosaurs, move them and create his own story. Ok more like a dinosaur fight that’s what he enjoys most. It was so much fun seeing the fight projected on the wall through a mini camera.

We then played with shadow puppets and took dinosaur fights to a much larger scale.

Then we stop to create our own dinosaur world manipulation shadows created by acrylic and wood cutouts.

Fossil station

We spent an hour over here. Just as we stepped out we discovered a fossil station. You have to explore the new names, identify using a magnifying glass and match them to the picture. The whole process of finding captured LiL knight and he made sure he matched the correctly even though he couldn’t pronounce some names.

The next was dino cars where you create your own lego car and race. You can find more info here.

We then stepped into dino den where you could colour and create your 2D mask. Wear it and have some fun role playing in tree houses.

If your little one still has energy left. Let them run like a dinosaur against a timer to see are they fast as a velociraptor or slow as diplodocus.

Before leaving we always keep the water play for the end. You can find more information here.

You can catch a video of the fun we had here.

Make sure you head this week as Dinosaurs leave Oli Oli on 20th Feb, 2020
